Scholarships

Two ways the fee comes down: a merit award from the college trust, and the Uttar Pradesh government scholarship.

Fee support

Two scholarships, and you can hold both

The published fee is not always what a student pays. Two separate kinds of support apply at Banaras Institute of Pharmacy: a merit scholarship awarded from the college trust, and the Uttar Pradesh government's post-matric scholarship, which students apply for directly with the state.

Purwanchal Educational Trust

College Trust Merit Scholarship

A merit-based reduction in fees, awarded from the college's own trust.

Who is eligible60% or above in the qualifying examination

  • No income condition and no category condition
  • Awarded on your qualifying examination marks alone
  • Ask the admissions office — no form, no portal

The trust sets the award each year, so no fixed slab is printed here. Bring your qualifying marksheet to the office and you will be told what applies to your marks, this year.

Government of Uttar Pradesh

UP Post-Matric Scholarship

Fee reimbursement plus a maintenance allowance, paid by the state.

Who is eligibleSC, ST, OBC, General and Minority, within the state income limit

  • Apply under Post Matric (Other Than Intermediate) — D.Pharm is a diploma
  • Reimbursed at the state-approved rate, which can be below the fee charged
  • Paid by direct transfer into the student's own account

Eligibility, the amount and the timetable are set by the state, not by the institute. Once you have applied, the office verifies your admission and fee details so the claim can be processed.

UP scholarship applications open in 20 days. The two are separate. Applying for one does not affect the other, and a student who qualifies for both can hold both.

What to keep ready

  • Aadhaar card, and a bank account in the student's own name linked to it
  • Domicile certificate for Uttar Pradesh
  • Income certificate issued by the tehsil, current for this session
  • Caste certificate, where the category requires one
  • High School and Intermediate marksheets
  • Fee receipt and proof of admission from the institute
  • Passport photograph and registration or OTR number

Complete the One Time Registration before the form itself. Start the income certificate early — the tehsil issues it, and it is the document that most often arrives after the deadline.

Applying is free and the money is paid straight to the student's account. Nobody should charge you to arrange a government scholarship, and the institute never does.

Questions

Asked and answered

Which scholarship scheme should a D.Pharm student apply under?

Post Matric (Other Than Intermediate), commonly called Dashmottar — the head used for diploma, polytechnic and degree students. D.Pharm is a diploma, so the Post Matric Intermediate scheme, which is for classes 11 and 12, is the wrong one, and applying under it is the commonest reason a form is rejected.

Can I take the College Trust scholarship and the government scholarship together?

Yes. The trust award is the institute's own money and the state scholarship is the government's, so applying for one has no bearing on the other. A student who qualifies for both can hold both.

How much is the College Trust merit scholarship?

The trust reviews the award each year, so no fixed slab is published. Students securing 60% or above in the qualifying examination are eligible; bring your marksheet to the admissions office and you will be told what applies to your marks for the current year. There is no income or category condition.

What is the income limit for the UP scholarship?

For the 2026-27 session the annual family income ceiling is Rs 2,50,000 for SC and ST applicants and Rs 2,00,000 for OBC, General and Minority applicants. The income certificate is issued by the tehsil and must be current for the session.
