Why BIP

What sets the institute apart

A diploma that is recognised where it counts, taught in laboratories rather than only from a syllabus.

Approved and affiliated

Approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and affiliated to the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh — the diploma is recognised for pharmacist registration.

Four specialist departments

Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology, each with its own laboratory and teaching staff.

Practical work throughout

Every theory paper is paired with laboratory time, so formulation, analysis and dispensing are learned by doing rather than read about.

Experienced faculty

Led by a Director who formerly taught in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology at IIT (BHU), Varanasi.

A route to further study

The diploma is a recognised entry point to B.Pharm, and from there to M.Pharm, for students who want to continue in pharmacy.

After the diploma

Where a D.Pharm can take you

The diploma is a working qualification in its own right, and a recognised first step for students who intend to go further.

  1. Community pharmacy

D.Pharm is the minimum qualification for registration as a pharmacist with a State Pharmacy Council, which is what allows you to dispense prescription medicines in a retail chemist.

  2. Hospital pharmacy

Hospital pharmacies employ diploma holders in dispensing, ward stock control, and counselling patients on how their medicines should be taken.

  3. Pharmaceutical industry

Manufacturing units recruit for production, packaging and quality-control roles, where the analytical work of the diploma applies directly.

  4. Higher study

Many graduates continue to B.Pharm, and a Pharm.D or M.Pharm after that, using the diploma as the first step rather than the destination.
