Grievance redressal

If something is wrong — a fee, a result, a facility, or the way someone has been treated — this is how you raise it.

The principle

Anyone can raise a grievance

Any student, parent or member of staff can raise a grievance with the institute. It costs nothing, it can be raised on someone else's behalf, and raising one cannot be held against the student who raised it.

  • A grievance can be raised by a parent or guardian, not only by the student.
  • To raise something without giving your name, call the office or speak to any member of staff. The form asks for a contact detail so the institute can tell you what was done.

What counts

Grievances the institute will hear

If what is wrong is not on the list, raise it anyway.

  • Admission and enrolment

Anything about how a seat was allotted, documents demanded at admission, or a place withheld.

  • Fees and refunds

Fees charged beyond what is published, a refund not made on withdrawal, or a receipt not issued.

  • Examination and results

Examination conduct, evaluation, a result withheld, or a certificate not issued.

  • Scholarships

A scholarship claim not forwarded or verified by the institute, or a delay in the college's part of the process.

  • Harassment or discrimination

Harassment of any kind, or discrimination on grounds of caste, religion, gender, language or disability.

  • Ragging

Ragging in any form, on or off the campus. Reported the same way, and treated as the most serious of these.

  • Teaching and facilities

Classes not held, laboratories or library not available as stated, or a facility charged for and not provided.

  • Anything else

The list above is not a limit. If something is wrong, raise it.

The process

What happens after you raise it

  1. 1

    Raise it

Use the form on this page, call the office, or speak to any member of staff. Give as much detail as you can — dates, names and documents make a complaint far easier to act on.

  2. 2

    It reaches the committee

The grievance is recorded and put to the institute's grievance committee.

  3. 3

    You are told the outcome

The person who raised it is told what was found and what was done. If it is not resolved, you can write to the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or to the Pharmacy Council of India.

The most serious of them

Ragging is prohibited

Ragging is prohibited at Banaras Institute of Pharmacy, in any form, on or off the campus. It is a criminal offence under Indian law and a ground for expulsion. Any student, parent or member of staff can report it, and a report can be made anonymously.

Every student and their parent or guardian must file an anti-ragging undertaking at the time of admission. It is filed online on the national portal, not with the college, and the college records the acknowledgement.

Report it the same way

Use the form below and choose Ragging, call the office, or speak to any member of staff. It is treated as the most serious head of grievance and acted on first.

Raise it

Send it to the institute

One form for every head of grievance, ragging included. Choose the category and say what happened.

If you would rather not put it in writing, call 7706033222 or speak to any member of staff on the campus. Nothing about raising a grievance requires you to use this form.

Raise a grievance

This form reaches the institute office. Use it for a grievance of any kind, including a report of ragging.

A contact detail is needed so the institute can tell you what was done. To report something without giving your name, call 7706033222 or speak to any member of staff — neither requires you to identify yourself.
